This Woodland Wedding was unlike anything else I’ve experienced. I’ve probably written and rewritten this beginning a hundred times if only failing worse each time to describe the incredible wild love between these two. This woodland wedding venue was in Washington. Nestled underneath sky tall trees and rich with hues of Burgundy it beautifully captured the woodland wedding theme Marina & Dane wanted to incorporate in their day.
Pro Wedding Tip: Planning your wedding day timeline can be a doozy, I get it. It’s usually your first time getting married (heck those of you who this is round two for, it’s still a doozy)! You’ve never done this before! So here’s a freebie. Give yourself time to get ready! Snuggle your momma, surround yourself with music and friends, go take a little dip in the lake! Don’t just make the first part of your day about getting ready (visually).
Make it about getting ready for your wedding, your marriage. Start it with your favorite things, your favorite people. I promise giving yourself the time to start your day with a smile on your face is everything. Marina and I spent her morning running around in a beautiful lace robe and getting sun-kissed by the lake in true PNW bride fashion.
Butt Taps lead to the best First Looks
Pretty sure Shakespeare said that. I didn’t think it could get saucier between the drop-dead gorgeous looks they were both stunting but the butt tap really was icing on the cake. Tucked away in a corner away from the rest of their woodland wedding, I seriously loved the moment these two got to see each other. They’ve been together for years and even have two little ones and yet that obsession and love between them hasn’t faded in the slightest. Wrapped up in his arms in her woodland wedding dress, Marina couldn’t look more beautiful.
PS. Out of all the woodland wedding ideas they had, Dane’s burgundy suit with floral details was among my favorite. The rich color and subtle detail matched the setting so amazing.
A Woodland Wedding Ceremony under a Burgundy Arch
Between the gorgeous overflowing greenery and the geometric arch covered in shades of Maroon and Burgundy, it was one of the most romantic setups I’ve ever seen for a ceremony. Marina walking down the aisle with her Father and her little girl, Atlas had everyone beaming. The energy was amazing. Laughter and tears and hugs, it was everything you want from a wedding day. From reading their sweet vows from their marble vow books to epically sealing their love and dancing down the aisle, it was them through and through.
DIY TIP: Don’t be scared to bring your magic to your wedding day. Marina’s bridesmaids opted out of woodland wedding bouquets and instead had beautiful geometric wooden triangles covered in greenery that Dane made for them.

A Not So Perfect, Perfect Woodland Wedding Day
A little bit of advice: Even though this day came with a stupid amount of bumps ( I’m talking we almost had to jump someone behind the venue and drag their body to the woods ), these two rocked it like champs. And that’s what freaking matters. I promise shit will hit the fan. But the way you react to it is what will make or break your day. Brush the little things off and remember what’s important. Most importantly put your bottoms up and dance the night away.
