Vows at Cathedral Park

Cathedral Park weddings are always so stunning. This historic park is actually one of my absolute favorite wedding venues in Portland. The iconic Gothic architecture of the St. John’s Bridge makes it such a dynamic backdrop for photos! You also get the perfect combination of urban and nature with how much greenery there is here mixed with the amphitheater and stairs! Geo & John chose Cathedral Park as the location to have their first look and share personal vows! One of my favorite shots of the whole day came from these moments when John standing in the center of the amphiteater in Cathedral Park waiting for Geo to walk down to him. The grandeur of the space against such a simple but powerful moment felt so fitting. I always remind couples that they can structure their day however feels most honest & genuine to them. And seeing how this moment unfolded, I was so glad that these two did exactly that. Starting their wedding day at Cathedral Park, a place that was familiar to both of them and a part of their story made these photos just that much more unique to them and their story. The time that these two spent in the morning together sharing these moments, both privately with each other and then with their families and wedding parties made their wedding morning so intentional. After we took some wedding party portraits, and of course some with their adorable fur baby, we headed to Castaway, another stunning wedding venue in Portland. Geo & John wanted a summer wedding with rich moody colors and they created exactly that. Between the wedding party palette to the incredible floral decor, their reception was beyond what they had envisioned!
